Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club keep their title hope alive beating Dhaka Mohammedan SC by a massive 97 runs in a super league match of the Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Saturday.
After the 4th round super league matches, Gazi Group Cricketers topped the league table securing 24 points while Abahani Limited and Prime Doleshwar SC followed the leader neck and neck collecting 22 points each, all playing 15 matches .
Two title contenders Gazi Group Cricketers will face Prime Doleshwar SC in a title deciding last super league match on Monday at BKSP groun-3 in Savar.
In the remaining super league matches, holders Abahani Limited will play Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at BKSP ground-4 while Prime Bank CC will meet Dhaka Mohammedan SC at Fatullah, also on Monday.
Sent into bat first in the day’s vital match, Prime Doleshwar SC piled up 264 runs for 6 in stipulated 50 overs.
National coloured opener Shahriar Nafees contributed the match highest 70 runs off 103 balls featuring six boundaries and was adjudged the man of the match.
Two down Marshall Ayub scored a half century making just 50 runs off 60 balls with three fours, one down Imtiaz Hossain made 53-ball 48 runs including five fours, Indian Rajat Bhatai added 32-ball 37 runs with two fours while Farhad Reza made 14 runs for Prime Doleshwar SC.
Pacer Sajedul Islam claimed two wickets for 35 runs while Jubair Hossain, Bipul Sharman and Kamrul Islam Rabbi took one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 265 runs, Dhaka Mohammedan SC were bundled out for 167 runs in 34.5 overs with Bipul Sharma making 48 runs off 47 balls with five hits to the fence and two over the fence.
Besides, Sajedul Islam (31), Shamsur rahman (26), Shykat Ali (18) and Nazmul Hossain Milon (18) were the other leading scorers for Mohammedan SC.
Sharifullah grabbed three wickets for 32 runs while Rahatul Ferdous, Delwar Hossain and Farhad Reza took two wickets each conceding 21,23 and 32 runs respectively.
