Moghbazar triple murder: Prime accused Kailla held, 2 others on remand

A Dhaka court on Saturday placed Faruk and Sohel on a five-day remand in connection with Thursday’s triple murder in the city’s Moghbazar area on Thursday night. Metropolitan Magistrate Md Erfanullah passed the order after police produced them before him seeking 10 days remand for each.
Police earlier on Saturday arrested three persons, including prime accused Kailla Babu, in connection with the triple murder.
The two other arrested persons were identified as Faruk Hossain and Sohel Khan, police said.
Acting on secret information, a team of police conducted a raid in Ramna area and arrested them early in this (Saturday) morning, said Deputy Commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Masudur Rahman.
Earlier, a case was filed against 15 people, including Kailla Babu, Rony, Shahdat, Raju, Topu, Sohel, Arif, Maruf, Billal, Thandu, Siraj, Picchi Rony and Jony, in connection with the murder.
The arrested persons confessed their involvement in primary interrogation by police said that the crime took place over grabbing a piece of land of Bangladesh Railway (BR).
Ramna zone’s Deputy Commissioner Iqbal Hossain said, “We’re interrogating the arrested persons to find out what they know.
Police sources said, the murder was committed over dominating the local cable TV business as well as holding control over a piece of land that belonged to the Bangladesh Railway.
