President Abdul Hamid on Saturday called upon all concerned to make more meaningful contribution for ensuring utmost use of telecommunication.
“Utmost use of telecommunication is the key tool of realizing Vision-2021 and Digital Bangladesh and I am happy to know that the country is going ahead through development of telecommunication system and its expansion to achieve this vision,” he said in a message on the eve of ‘World Telecommunication and Information Society Day- 2015’.
It is possible to expedite socio-economic development through reaching telecommunication and IT services to people of all classes and professions at every place of the country, he said.
“For achieving this target, the government has laid emphasis on using ICT at all levels from union to upazila, district, division and centre in the country,” the President added.
Terming this year’s theme – “Telecommunication and ICTs: Drivers of Innovation” as time-befitting, the President said that the society would advance towards development in a speedy manner, if ICT is integrated with merits and innovation power of the young generation.
