Abrar murder: Court to accpt charges Jan

A Dhaka court yesterday fixed January 21 to take Abrar Fahad murder case into cognizance and receive charge sheet thereof in presence of the accused.
The hearing will be held at the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court on that day, Taposh Kumar Paul, a lawyer on behalf of the State, told media people on Wednesday.
Earlier on January 13, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Md. Kaisarul Islam ordered to transfer the case to the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court for trial. On that day, the case was transferred after completing all the necessary formalities and the court had fixed yesterday (Wednesday) to receive the charge sheet.
Abrar Fahad, 21, a student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, (BUET) was tortured to death reportedly by some BCL leaders of BUET unit of the Sher-e-Bangla Hall on October 7, last year.
Abrar’s father filed a murder case against 19 persons with Chawkbazar Police Station of the city on the day of the murder.
