The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed stated that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangladesh are inseparable. We have to work to implement the conviction that Bangladesh must surge ahead.
He also called all to follow the Bangabandhu’s ideology.
IGP Benazir Ahmed made this call on the occasion of the historic March 7 and the status of the developing country of Bangladesh at Rajarbagh Police lines auditorium on Sunday evening.
The IGP said that he was a fourth grade student in 1971. He had seen the harsh form of poverty. At that time hunger and poverty were accepted as destiny by the people.
He is still thrilled when he thinks of the horrific history of poverty. Now electricity has reached every house, roads have been built, he said.
Everyone must come forward to be committed to modern Bangladesh. 180 million people have to work together to make the potential real. We have to move forward by eradicating hunger and poverty. He called the celebration is a breaking the chain of poverty.
Speaking as the chief guest, the IGP said that they have to work to maintain unity among to build ourselves the Bangabandhu’s dreamed golden Bangladesh.
Police Headquarters’ Additional IGP (Administration) Moinur Rahman Chowdhury said police members should try to treat the public well.
Regarding the propaganda about Bangabandhu, he also said, “Propaganda about Bangabandhu has always created confusion. Bangladesh will never be Afghanistan. If you don’t like it, leave the country.”
Monirul Islam, Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit said that to maintain the continuity of Bangladesh’s irresistible progress, the DMP would work to control crime including militancy.
