Police recovered 667 sacks of government food storage rice from two shops in the district on Friday.
On a tip off, a police team conducted raids in two shops at Kakramari Bazar under Charghat upazila and recovered 20 tonnes of rice around 11:30 am.
Abdul Karim, Inspector (Investigation) of Bagha Police Station, said police also arrested the shop-owners Mustakim Hossain and Shamsher Ali and seized a truck in this connection from the spot.
A case was recorded with Charghat Police Station.
