Prosecution starts placing arguments against Mobarak

The prosecution in the trial of alleged Razakar commander Mobarak Hossain, alias Mobarak Ali, charged with committing crimes against humanity during the War of Liberation, on Sunday started placing arguments against the accused. Prosecutor Shahidur Rahman placed his arguments against Mobarak, alleged commander of Razakar Bahini in Brahmanbaria, and by the lunch break, he concluded arguing on three out of total five charges that were framed against the accused.
The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 then adjourned the hearing till today, leaving the prosecution arguments incomplete.
The prosecution on February 25, 2013, submitted the formal charge against Mobarak and the ICT-1 on March 12 on the same year, took the charges into cognizance. The ICT-1 on April 23, 2013, indicted Mobarak on five charges of crimes against humanity.
A total of 12 prosecution witnesses have testified against Mobarak, whereas the accued himself and his eldest son testified as the two defence witnesses.
