Staff Reporter :A police source was allegedly hacked to death by a gang of assailants in the capital’s Guderghat area under Shah Ali Police Station in the city early Saturday. But, police recovered the body from Kingshok Balurmath Slum of Mirpur in the morning.The victim was identified as Md Jasim, 35, son of Hanif Hawlader, from Munshiganj district. He worked as a source for both police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), police said.AKM Shahin Mandal, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shah Ali Police Station, said that a team of police went to the spot following information and recovered the slit-throat body lying on a road in front of the slum around 7:30am.Squeal of previous enmity might be one of main reasons of the murder, the police official said. Police also recovered a sharp sword beside the body and are investigating the murder case, he said. The body had been sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue for an autopsy, the OC said.
