PM’s birthday celebrated at JU

The 74th birthday of Prime Minister and President of Bangladesh Awami League Sheikh Hasina was celebrated at Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus in a befitting manner on Monday.
Eldest of five offspring of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and Begum Fazilatunnesa, Hasina was born in Gopalganj’s Tungipara upazila on September 28 in 1947.
Marking the day, Sheikh Hasina hall authority of JU organized a discussion meeting at the hall premises.
Addressing the function as chief guest, JU Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Farzana Islam highlighted the glorious life of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and wished her sound health and long life.
Presided over by Provost of Sheikh Hasina Hall, Professor Bashir Ahmed, former Pro-VC Prof. Md. Farhad Hossain, Provost Committee President Prof Motahar Hossain and President of JU Teachers Association Prof A. A. Mamun among others took part in it.
Later, a birthday cake was cut and a special prayer was offered seeking Sheikh Hasina’s long life.
Besides, JU unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) organized a tree plantation programme at ‘Amor Ekushey’ premises in the morning.
Later, they arranged a milad and doa mahfil in front of Sheikh Hasina hall seeking blessings for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members.
