Amid the growing concern over deaths of children in torture across the country, a minor boy was seriously
injured and beaten by some local people over a trifling matter at Charjagabandhu village in Kamalnagar upazila.
The incident came to light on Thursday after a case was filed with Kamalnagar Police Station accusing four people.
The victim Shipon, 9, a class I student of a local primary school and son of Abul Kalam of the village, is receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Local people said, some people, including Didar Hossain, son of late Bashir Ullah, his brother Murad Hossain and Yeasin, son of Abur Rab, beat up the boy for defecating on the bank of a pond at the village on July 27 (Tuesday).
