Minister for Local Govt , Rural development & Cooperatives Md.Tajul Islam said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina never dreams development of the country without the development of the port city.
He said Prime Minister always stands beside chattogram’s uplift. He disclosed it while addressing the inaugural session of the views exchange meeting on elimination of waterloging and overall development of the port city that held at Chattogram Circuit house yesterday morning as chief guest with Divisional commissioner Md. Abdul Mannan in the chair.
Among others Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan chowdhury Nowfel, senior secretary of Local govt ministry SM Golam Faruk , city Mayor AJM Nasiruddin , chairman of Chattogram development authority Abdus salam were present in the meet.
The minister said the wheels of country’s economy move through Chattogram and we able to fulfil our dreams through existence of chattogram Port. He said this is my first visit in the port city since my assumption as Minister for LGRD and arranged this meeting of views exchanging with different local govt bodies.
Now our main task is to find out the prevailing problems of the port city aimed at to resolve these within a shortest possible time. He also said every member of the ministerial cabinet is pledged bound for country’s uplift under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The Minister further said with the dreams of the Prime Minister, we have started works to fulfill these dreams . He also said Prime Minister is relentlessly working for fulfilling the unfinished task of the father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his dream of Bangladesh into Sonar Bangla. Md Tajiul Islam hoped that the port city will be turned into a eye catching city of the country under the right leadership of city mayor, CDA Chairman and District council chairman.
The minister finally vows to rapid development of the port city and said Prime Minister always monitor about this city and concerned ministries approves any development plan of the port city without any fail. He elaborately discuss the matter the sorrow of the port city that is water logging and directed the concerned local bodies to work consensusly for effective result of eliminating this chronic problems of the city. He also mentioned about the budget approval by ECNEC meeting in due time. He said if thedevelopment works go consensusly, the development will be accelerated .
Besides, Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan chowdhury Nowfel also spoke on the occasion among others.
