Gas supply suspended in Mirpur: People suffer most

Thousands of residents of Mirpur and its adjacent areas experienced tremendous sufferings, as there was no gas supply from 8am on Thursday due to relocation of gas pipelines to facilitate construction of the Dhaka Metro Rail Project.
The supply to household, commercial, industrial and CNG refuelling stations in these areas was suspended.
On the day, long queues of the residents were seen in front of the hotels and the restaurants to buy foods.
The areas were Mirpur Section-10 to Agargaon, Monipur, Kazipara, Shewrapara, Pirerbagh, Barabagh, Senpara Parbata, Ibrahimpur, North Kafrul, Taltala, Mirpur-14, Kachukhet, Kallyanpur, Shyamoli, Pikepara and Ansar Camp areas.
The residents of Mirpur and adjoining areas complained of their frequent sufferings,
ever since work on the Metro Rail Project began a year ago.
Many of them said, the contractors appointed for the relocation of gas pipelines have been working very slowly over prolonged period, which ultimately resulted in the sufferings.  
Mosharraf Hossain Bablu, a resident of Kazipara area, told this correspondent “We are facing untold sufferings. I don’t know when we will get rid of it.”
