Rajuk exchanges views with journo: No approval beyond DAP

Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) on Monday said that it had not given approval to construct any building or infrastructure beyond Detail Area Plan (DAP).
 “We have not approved any application to construct any installation out of DAP in last 11 months since I have taken charge,” Ziaul Hasan, Member (Planning) in RAJUK, said this while speaking at an exchange of views meeting at RAJUK on the day. RAJUK organised the meeting as part of a series’ of exchange of views with different stakeholders and professional groups about the next plans of DAP.
He said that no installation would be allowed to construct in the capital or its adjacent areas.
 “We got many applications from influential persons and even some government offices to construct buildings and other installations in such places which the DAP is not allowed. We had not approved those. We ensure that what type of installations and infrastructures would be build or preserved are fixed that will must be followed. The law is equal to all,” Ziaul Hasan said.
The RAJUK officials admitted some mistakes and weaknesses of the last DAP saying that they are now trying to take better plans.
The RAJUK officials took part in the exchange of views meeting with the Nagar Unnayan Sangbadik Forum, Bangladesh.
Planner Md. Ashraful Islam, Project Director (DAP), Chief Urban Planner of RAJUK Sirajul Islam, Team Leader Aktar Hossain Chowdhury, Nagar Unnayan Sangbadik Forum President Amitosh Pal, Vice-President Abul Kashem, General Secretary Matin Abdullah, Joint-Secretary Mahmuda Dolly, Financial Affair Secretary Sayeed Malik and Organising Secretary Khalid Saifullah, among others, took part in the meeting.
