Staff reporter :Restrictions on entering any public transports into the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) area due to security reasons created immense suffering to passengers and other visitors.Especially the passengers coming back from the KSA after performing Hajj are the worst sufferers.Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) on Monday has decided not to allow entrance of any kind of public transports anymore in the airport area citing security reasons. After a visit to the HSIA, this correspondent found that most of the passengers are coming out of the airport area on foot with their bulk of baggage. Many of the victims could not hire a taxi or an auto rickshaw even after waiting for hours on the street.”I have been trying to hire an auto rickshaw or to ride a bus for more than an hour but failed to avail any of them due to scarcity and huge gathering.” “Besides, if any one managed to hire a transport, have been forced to pay double or triple fare comparing to that of normal time,” he added.”If the government is keen to ensure security, then the authority could strengthen checking of both passengers and the transports at the point of entering into the airport rather than creating suffering to the passengers,” headed. However, no of the CAAB official wanted to make comment on the issue.
