A Dhaka court on Thursday placed BNP Executive Committee member and former MP Syeda Ashifa Ashrafi Papiya on one-day remand each in three cases filed with Paltan and Motijheel police stations.
Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order, rejecting her bail petitions on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, the police produced Papiya in
the court with a thirty-day remand plea in three cases.
On June 16, Dhaka’s CMM Court sent Papiya to the jail rejecting her bail petitions. Papiya surrendered to the court and filed the petitions as her bail in the three cases granted by the High Court Division of the Supreme Court expired.
