Pakistan beat India in ‘Super Four’ of Asia Cup

Pakistan beat India by five wickets in their ‘Super Four’ match of the Asia Cup at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday.
Chasing India’s mammoth total of 181 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs, Pakistan reached the winning spot making 182 for the loss of five wickets when the had just one ball to spare.
India had a good start as openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul put on together 54 runs before Rohit Sharma (28) was caught by Khushdil Shah off Haris Rauf.
After Rohit’s dismissal, KL Rahul (28) was caught at the long-on by Mohammad Nawaz off Shadab Khan when India’s total was 62 for the loss of two wickets.
One-down Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav added together 29 runs for the third wicket partnership before Suryakumar (13) was caught at the square leg by Asif Ali off Mohammad Nawaz when India’s score was 91 for the loss of three wickets.
Kohli top-scored with 60 runs. He hit four fours and a sixer in his 44-ball innings.
After Pandya’s dismissal, Deepok Hooda and Virat Kohli added together 37 runs for the sixth wicket partnership before Hooda was caught at the long-on by Mohammad Nawaz off Naseem Shah when India’s total was 168 for the loss of six wickets.
Shadab Khan bagged a pair of wickets in the space of 31 runs, while Mohammad Nawaz, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain and Naseem Shah took one wicket each for 25, 38, 38 and 45 runs respectively.
Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Nawaz fought back adding together 73 runs for the third wicket partnership before Mohammad Nawaz was caught at the long-off by Hooda off Bhuvneshwar Kumar when Pakistan’s score was 136 for the loss of three wickets.
Nawaz hit 42 from 20 balls featuring six fours and two sixes.
Rizwan top-scored with 71 runs. His 51-ball knock saw six fours and two sixes.
Khushdil Shah helped his team to earn victory. He scored 14 runs from 11 balls with one four.
Bhuvneshwar, Arshdeep, Ravi Bishnoi, Hardik Pandya and Chahal took one wicket each.
