Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University (DIU) joined the 18th International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) Triennial Conference in Vienna, Austria during July 5th – 8th, 2017. This Conference was attended by 300 plus participants from around the globe and focused on the theme ‘Innovation in Education’. Every three years, the IAUP conducts this large scale conference where dynamic discussions related to higher educational fields take place with the “commitment to the opportunity for every interested individual to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for the pursuit of higher education.”
Khan’s presentation titled ‘Industry-University Collaboration: A Way for Innovation and Employment’ on the theme ‘Industry meets Education, drew attention of the audience.
He spoke on sustainable development goal, human development, higher education in Bangladesh, Key Strategies in University Education in Bangladesh, delta planning, matching skills and labor market, DIU Industry Academia Lecture Series on Entrepreneurship Development, Innovation and Industry Academia Collaboration, DIU Publications on Entrepreneurship, DIU’s Department of Entrepreneurship as pioneer in Bangladesh, curriculum development, practical involvement of students, and Employability 360 degree during his presentation.
He handed over a DIU Souvenir to Kakha Shengelia, PhD., IAUP President-elect and President, Caucasus University, Tbilisi, Georgia during the conference.
IAUP is the largest and oldest Association represented by University Presidents from 170 countries. It holds the highest (ECOSOC) consultation rights at the United Nations and formal consultation rights with UNESCO. The great outcome of the visit is to strengthen networking in and around the area.
