Education Minister and Presidium Member of Awami League Mr. Nurul Islam Nahid said, the pace of development in Bangladesh is being accelerated day by day.
For this, the present government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is being praised and thanked by the world leaders in world forums.
Nahid was addressing a mammoth public meeting arranged by Gulapgonj Upazila AL and its front and other organisations at Gulapgonj Bus Terminal Square Thursday afternoon..
Presided over by AL Upazila President and veteran leader Adv Iqbal Ahmed Chowdhury, the meeting was addressed among others by AL Organising Secretary Adv Misbahuddin Siraj PP, Golapgonj Municipal Mayor Sirajul Jabbar Chowdhury and others.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid who was the pioneer of establishing Syhet Education Board in 1996-2001 tenure of Awami League Government said that Bangladesh has significantly advanced in education sector.
He said, the present Government of Sheikh Hasina took up massive development programmes which even have been lauded by the world leaders in world forums, for which she got international reputation by which the image of the country has been enhanced abroad.
Nurul Islam Nahid who was earlier Chairman on Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Education said, during the present government the development schemes has been implemented in Gulapgonj and Beanibazar were not done earlier, even during the tenures of other governments. He said, Bangladesh has been branded a low income country some years ago but now our country is being called a medium income country by dint of the development of the present grand Alliance Government.
Sheikh Hasina introduced her programme ‘To change bad days of Bangladesh to good ones’ for which the present governments development outcome is visible.
Turning to BNP, Education Minister Nahid said, conspiracy will never do. The government brought the war-criminals under trial, the killers of Bangabandhu will not escape and those who will conspire must be brought under judicial process too.
In special guest’s speech AL Organising Secretary Misbahuddin Siraj Advocate opined the Government of the Daughter of Bangabandhu has made the country a role model one in the world outside. He said, Education Minister has been made one of the central Executive Committee Member for his contribution towards educational development of Bangladesh for which he (Mr. Nahid) has been made Vice-Chairman of the UNESCO.
Iqbal Ahmed Chowdhury said, Nahid has not only been a career politician but also a development maker of Sylhet Division. Sylhet will go ahead under the eminent leadership of Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid.
