A discussion on the occasion of the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman organised by Bangladesh Private University Association was held in the auditorium of the National Museum in the city. Foreign Minister Dr AKM Abdul Momen was present as the chief guest in he programme held on Monday. While speaking Momen recalled with due respect the contribution of the Father of the Nation in achieving an independent Bangladesh. “Bangabandhu was killed at a time when the agricultural revolution was near its success. But they (killers) could not kill the ideal and spirit of Bangabandhu,” the minister said. The function was addressed,among others, by Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim and UGC Chairman Dr Kazi Shahidullah. Chairman of the association Sheikh Kabir Hossain presided over the event.
