A-two member delegation from Asian Development Bank (ADB) led by Mr. Erik A. Bloom, Senior Social Sector Specialist, Human and Social Development Division, South Asia Department, ADB held a meeting with University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh at UGC Auditorium yesterday. At the meeting, ADB expressed interest to initiate IT projects in few universities in Bangladesh for infrastructure development and producing IT graduates. The delegation had a threadbare discussion with Professors Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah and Dr Md Akhtar Hossain, Members, UGC. Dr Md. Khaled, Secretary, UGC was also present. Mohiuddin Alamgir, Consultant, ADB assisted Mr. Erik A. Bloom during the meeting. At the meeting, Mr. Erik A. Bloom also expressed interest to modernize education and research in Agricultural Universities of Bangladesh. Prof Yousuf Ali Mollah, represented the Chairman of UGC and expressed the hope that the proposed projects will play a significant role for country’s human resource development in IT sector, as well as in agriculture, says a press release.

Baridhara Society hosted a ‘Pittha Utshab’- 2018 at its park premises to celebrate the winter season recently. M. Among others, Treasurer Khairul Alam, E.C. Int’l University of Business Agriculture and Technology
The 77th orientation for freshmen of Spring 2018 of the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) was held on Wednesday and Thursday at the permanent campus of IUBAT at Uttara. This programme is a regular programme of the University designed and delivered to welcome the new comers of BAEcon, BATHM, BSN, BSAg, BCSE, BSCE, BSEEE, BSME, BBA and MBA . The new students of different disciplines who came from all over the country joined the orientation with enthusiasm and exuberance. Prof Dr Abdur Rab, VC of the University presided over the orientation.
