Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha
A meeting organised by Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha was held at its central office in the city’s Nayapalton on Saturday. In the meeting the date expired committee was dissolved with a view to strengthening the organisational activities in Rampura, Darus Salam, Sabujbag and Bangshal thana unit. The meeting decided unanimously to form the new committee of the Sangstha without any delay. The programme was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the organisation, central committee and BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Helal Khan, its Senior Joint General Secretary Mohammad Zakir Hossain Rokon, its Vice-Presidents Jahangir Alam Ripon, Mohammad Hannan Masum, Joint General Secretary of the organisation and its Mahanagar Unit Joint Convenor Maksudur Rahman Tipu and its Joint Convenor Abdul Halim Khokon. Vice-President of the Sangstha, central committee Mir Sanaul Haque presided over the function.
Bangabandhu Parishad
A discussion on the occasion of 97th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman organised by Bangabandhu Parishad was held at the Jatiya Press Club on Saturday. In the programme the speakers said Bangabandhu had made his best efforts to rebuild the war-ravaged Bangladesh and put it on the right path of development in the quickest possible time. With the passage of time, they said, the people would realize the sincere and pragmatic steps of the Father of the Nation he had taken soon after the independence in 1971. They said Bangabandhu was no more but his ideals, courage, political wisdom, patriotism and love for general masses would inspire generations after generations to be patriotic and hard-working. The key to respect Bangabandhu, they said, would be to keep full confidence in the spirit of the war of independence and the ‘Bangalee’ nationalism. The function was addressed, among others, by Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University Dalem Chandra Barman, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Dr Akhteruzzaman, President of the National Press Club Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman and former Chairman of Agrani Bank Board Professor Dr Khandaker Bazlur Rahman. President of the parishad Dr SA Malek presided over the event.
