CU shuttle train driver released 3-hr after ‘abduction’

A driver of a Chattogram University (CU) shuttle train, who was abducted allegedly by a group of activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Monday morning, was released in the city’s Bahaddarhat area, three hours after his abduction.
The incident took place at around 10:30 am on Sunday . Meanwhile, the railway authority decided not to run the university shuttle and demu train.
Sholashahar Station Master Shahab Uddin said a group of people kidnapped the driver by identifying activists of CU BCL.The people were threatened us not to run the train.
Shatla movement is now currently closed.he also added.
The blockades caused immense suffering for the students who had exams and classes scheduled yesterday.
The rescued man was identified as Mohammad Kawser, 45.The driver was released from the city’s Bahddarhat about 1:15pm, said Jahangir Sub Inspector of CU Police Pari.
Proctor of the university Mohammad Ali Asgar Chowdhury said ;”the police has been asked to take action against those who involved in the incident.
Meanwhile, CU BCL former President Mohammad Alamgir Tipu denying of their involvement in the incident said that CU BCL is not involve anything about the driver’s abduction.
