Considering the vulnerability of the slum dwellers Eco-Social Development Organisation (ESDO) and WaterAid Bangladesh addressing wash crisis in low-income settlements of garment workers in Mirpur, Dhaka Project have distributed hygiene material to 900 family which covering more than 4000 population. Mohammad Sajjad Hossain, Councilor, Ward 2, Dhaka North City Corporation, inaugurated the distribution of first aid kits in Tekerbari slum recently. Each family received bathing soap, laundry soap, mask, bleaching powder, toothpaste, sanitary napkin in three phases as health safety materials. Since last May 2020, Soapy water, 20000 leaflets, hand miking, disinfection spray two times a day were distributed in the four slums under the project. 20,000 people of 4,473 families in slums have received coronal protection under the project.
With the slogan “Our community is our pride”, a group of teenagers, known as change agents of the project, ensured soapy water throughout the slums.
