Two injured by snatchers in Barisal city

A gang of snatchers attacking a battery operated three-wheeler injured two by stabbing and amputated wrist of one of the injured at Hospital Road area of city center on Friday morning.The two victims were identified as Abdul Wahab, 40, son of Abdul Hakim from Asiab of Jhalakathi and a staff of HAMCO Company in Dhaka, and Md. Sujan, 35, son of Nayek Sheikh, a businessman, from Fishery Road area of the city.The injured two were admitted at Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital in critical condition and left wrist of Wahab was amputated in the incident. Shakhawat Hossain, Kotwali police station officer in charge, quoting witnesses and injured victims, said passengers coming from Dhaka by launch started journey to Nathullabad bus station on a shared auto-rickshaw after 5:00 AM Friday. When the rickshaw reached near Law College campus on Hospital Road area of city center, a gang of three snatchers attacking the auto-rickshaw under sharp arms tried to snatch the bags of the passengers.

6 Jamaatmen among 62 held in Jessore

Joint forces detained at total of 62 people including 6 Jamaat-e-Islami men in overnight operations across Jessore district till Thursday morning, a press note issued by office of superintendent of police, Jessore said.The joint force seized a pipe gun, a one -shooter gun, 2 rounds bullets and some illegal drugs, the press note added.
