Agami Education Foundation (AEF)

For the intrinsic growth of underprivileged children’s talents as well as their mentality, Agami Inc.’s sister organization Agami Education Foundation (AEF) is arranging a “Teachers’ Training on Teaching Science by hands-on practice” for the third time. The 5-day programme began from yesterday and it will continue till 24 , 2017 at AEF Office in the city . A total of 12 teachers took part in the programme designed for class-VIII Science subjects. Teachers from 6 Agami directed schools from the remotest corners of Bangladesh also attended . The programme has been designed in line with the current textbook curriculum provided by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board. The key theme of the t programme is to revolves around presenting Science education in an enjoyable manner to the students and with a hands-on approach – so that a qualitative, participatory and timely process of teaching can be developed. The programme is being conducted by 3 Master Trainers of the national level and National Curriculum and Textbook Board. With the inauguration of the programme , the programme has started. The founder and President of Agami Inc, Babu Rahman inaugurated the programme. It was attended by among others Mahjabeen Kamal – Program Director of Life is Fun (LiF) and Associate Director, School Programme – Agami Inc.; Shawkat Hossain – Vice President, AEF; Nafisa Khanam – Executive Director, AEF; TazkeraKhanom – Director of Finance, AEF; M. Abdur Rahman Khan – Director of Administration and AEF and RokshanaAkther, Senior Teacher, Viqarunnisa Noon School and College as resource persons . Agami has started its journey in 2003 as a quality education providing non-profit foundation, built for the sake of education of underprivileged children, says a press release.

International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) has issued most comprehensive International Financial Reporting Standard, “IFRS-15: Revenue from Contracts with Customers” to be effective from January 01, 2018. Considering the significance and gravity of the standard, the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) has arranged for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme for its members at ICMAB Ruhul Quddus Auditorium, Nilkhet in the city on Tuesday. M. Abul Kalam Mazumdar FCMA, Chairman , Cost Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards Committee (CAFRSC) and former President of the Institute Chaired discussion session. Akhtar Sanjida Kasem FCA, FCMA, Partner, A. Qasem & Co. presented standard as key Resource Person. Mustafa Alim Aolad, Deputy CFO, Grameenphone Limited and Dr. Md Musfiqur Rahman ACMA, Associate Professor, Dept. of Accounting & Information Systems, University of Dhaka took part as panel discussants. ICMAB Secretary Md. Abdur Rahman Khan FCMA offered vote of thanks, says a press release. In his welcome speech Mr. Mazumdar mentioned that to be a professional accountant the Cost and Management Accountants are required to be thorough about financial accounting as well as Cost accounting standards. In an effort to this direction the CPD program was arranged. A large number of Fellow and Associate Members of the Institute attended the CPD programme.
