A student of Chittagong Medical College allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at Boalkhali Municipality Sadar of the district on Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Sherin Akter Rekha, 23, daughter of Saleh Ahmed, hailed from Doliler Baperbari of Boalkhali Municipality Sadar of the district also a fourth-year student of the medical college hospital.
Quoting the victim’s relatives, Salehuddin Chow-dhury, officer-in-Charge (OC) of Boalkhali thana, said Sherin might have committed suicide by hanging herself over family feud. She was rushed to the Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) where attending doctors declared her dead.
Mason electrocuted: A Mason was electrocuted while working at an under-construction building beside Patenga Neval Academy under Patenga thana in the city early Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Abdul Hoque, 35, son of Bazlur Rahman, hailed from Feni district.
Police outpost sources at Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) said Abdul Hoque was electrocuted while working at the under-construction building in the area at about 5 am today.
