UNB, Dhaka :
Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan police arrested a suspected member of an Islamist extremist group from the city’s Mazar Gate area in Mirour Section-1 on Friday night.
The arrestee was identified as Md Monir Aslam.
Monir, earlier posted a objectionable comment on Facebook using name,
mobile number, picture and workplace of a female crime reporter of private television channel ’71 TV’.
Based on her complaint, an operational team of the CTTC unit led by its Senior Assistant Commissioner Nazmul Islam conducted a drive at Mazar Gate of Mirpur Section 1 and arrested Monir at around 7:45.
