A discussion commemorating Ivy Rahman who was killed in August 21 grenade attack in 2004 organised by Bangabandhu Academy was held on Friday at the seminar room of the Institute of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) in the city’s Kakrail. Awami League Advisory Council Member Suranjit Sengupta was present as the chief guest. While speaking Suranjit said Ivy Rahman would remain a glitter in the politics of Bangladesh. “She died like a hero”. He also said that politics of the 80s is now obsolete. The politics of changing the government by force is not gaining wind now, he added. Dhaka City AL Joint Secretary Hazi Mohammad Selim, MP presided over the programme. The event was also addressed, among others, by Barrister Zakir Ahmed, Adviser of the organisation Abdul Hai Kanu, Samyabadi Dal leader Harun Chowdhury and Bangabandhu Academy General Secretary Humayun Kabir Mizi.
