An online platform titled “Education for Nation” has been launched aimed at assisting the educational institutions to conduct online classes initially for the secondary and higher secondary students.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the platform at Dhaka
Residential Model College through a videoconferencing with the college Principal Brigadier General Kazi Shameem Farhad in the chair, said a press release on Monday.
The “Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) project” of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division will provide technical support to conduct the online classes.
Addressing the virtual function, Palak said the ICT Division has been working in collaboration with the country’s education, health, and food management since the country fell in crisis due to the deadly coronavirus outbreak.
As part of this, platforms titled “Food for Nation”, “Health for Nation” and “Education for Nation” have been formed to facilitate the people with online services in food, heath and education sectors, he added.
“Due to the corona situation, the epidemic that we are experiencing like other nations of the globe may not be short-lived but it may be long. So, we have no alternative to use information technology (IT) to adapt to this new changing world,” the ICT Division state minister said.
