A young man was killed in a clash between two groups of people at Bhadrabila union in Sadar upazila on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Mohsin Sikdar, 36, brother of Bhadrabila union parishad chairman Liakat Sikdar.
Police and locals said there had been a longstanding dispute between the residents of Bashgram, Ramsiddhi and Kalimon villages.
Following the enmity, the inhabitants of the villages, divided into two groups, locked in a clash around 7:30am on Thursday.
A chase and counter-chase took place during the melee that left Mohsin dead on the spot and 15 people injured.
