A motorbiker was killed on the spot and his friend riding just behind him on his motorbike sustained serious injuries when the motorbike was crashed suddenly by another vehicle on Chandpur-Cumilla Regional highway at Aliganj area in front of Polli Biddut Samity -1 office at Hajiganj Upazila at around 6 pm on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Mehedi Hasan Babul,25, son of Md Botu Mia of Bolshid village in Tamta Uttar union of Shahrasti Upazila. Seriously injured youth was identified as Nazmul Huque,25, son of Lytton Mia of Rara village of the same Upazila -said Police Sub Inspector Ramizuddin of Hajiganj Thana adding that soon after the accident he rushed to the spot along with Police forces. The badly damaged motorbike was seized but the killer vehicle sped away soon after the crash. Locals rushed both the critically injured Mehedi and Nazmul to Hajiganj Health Complex at Aliganj where the on- duty doctor declared Mehedi dead.
