2 Biman staff sent to jail

A Dhaka court yesterday sent two traffic helpers of Biman Bangladesh Airlines in a case lodged over seizure of around four kilograms of gold bars at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on July 13. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahinur Rahman passed the order as police produced accused Emdad Hossain and Abdur Rahim before court after end of their five-day remand.
The court on July 14 placed the duo on five-day remand.
Airport Armed Police Battalion members detained them at around 1.45 pm on July 13 as traffic helper Emdad with the help of Rahim collected the gold bars from cargo goods brought here Thai Airline flight TG 321. They were trying to smuggle the gold bars out of the airport.
