Barisal Metropolitan Police arrested one person as alleged killer of a minor aged school girl after rape on Wednesday .
In a press briefing on Wednesday noon Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP) at its office claimed that Barisal Airport police arrested truck driver and father of three children Abul Kalam Azad alias Kalu,40, accused over killing school girl Sima Aktar, 8, after rape from Kashipur Gonpara area of the city on Tuesday afternoon.
The accused was arrested from his residence and police recovered the shoes and other evidences related with killing of the victim from his residence, police commissioner SM Ruhul Amin told the journalists.
In the press briefing Police Commissioner said ` Sima Akther, 8, was a student of class three in Gonpara Govt. Primary school.
She went to the house of Abul Kalam Azad, the school on March 11 noons to attend the nature’s call as toilet of her school was unusable.
The house was vacant at that time and taking this chance the accused strangle Sima to death after rape and threw the dead body packing in a sack to the family graveyard of neighboring Halim Master.
Mahamuda Begum, mother of victim, lodged a general diary with Airport PS on the same day after missing of the girl from school.
After recovery of dead body and other evidences and arrest of the alleged killer, that GD turned to a murder after rape case with the same police station.
The accused sent to jail on Wednesday afternoon, after police produced him before the Tribunal for Prevention of Torture against Women and Children, police sources added.
On other hand, teachers, students and guardians of Gonpara Govt. Primary School, formed a human chain and held a protest rally in front of the school demanding speedy trial and capital punishment of the killer of Sima Aktar on Wednesday noon.
