Police arrested Liakat Fakir,60, from Chandrahar village under Gournadi upazila of Barishal on Wednesday for violating an disabled girl (aged 14) alluring her for food.
Mahbubur Rahman, officer in charge (investigation) of Gournadi police station, said the arrest was made after father of the victim lodged a case against the accused on Wednesday noon. The victim sent to Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital for medical test.
In the case the complainant alleged that Liakat Fakir alluring the victim about giving tasty food brought to the vacant home of the neighbor Zahid Fakir on March 29 noon and violated her.
Then the accused again taking the victim to the vacant house of neighbouring Saidul Moral on Wednesday morning tried to molest her, mother of the victim seeing that created hue and cry and neighbours running to the spot rescued the victim. But the accused managed to flee from the scene.
Then father of victim as complainant rushed to the police station lodged the case, police sources added.
