To mark the 50th Victory Day, a day-long festival titled Oikko Bijoy Mela was held on the premises of Channel i building in the capital’s Tejgaon area on December 16.
Private satellite Channel i organised the virtual event in association with Oikko.com.bd.
Chairman of Prokriti O Jibon Foundation and Director of Channel i Mukit Majumdar Babu inaugurated the fair by releasing balloons in the presence of eminent guests at 11:05am.
The fair featured inspiring patriotic songs performed by singers, Fakir Alamgir, Nilu, Pushpita, among others.
A local dance troupe also performed at the programme. With the theme of the Liberation War, an art competition was also held on the occasion.
Directed by Amirul Islam and Shahidul Alam Sachchu, Apu Mahfuz and Dilruba Shathi anchored the event. Channel i aired event live till 2:00pm.
Managing Director of Channel i Faridur Reza Sagor and its Head of News Shykh Seraj spoke on the programme through online.
