OC sued for torturing ex-BCL leader

A former leader of the central committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Wednesday filed a case against four policemen including Officer-in-Charge (OC) of a police station in the city on charges of ‘torturing’ the former BCL leader.
Abdur Rahim Jillu, a former Deputy Environmental Affairs Secretary of the central committee of BCL, filed the case against city’s Sadarghat police station OC Moinul Islam Bhuiyan, Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Salek and two unidentified cops of the police station.
The plaintiff in his case filed with the court of Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Farid Alam claimed that the policemen beat him and hurt his nose in front of his wife at a residential hotel at city’s Sadarghat area on March 19 last. “Later, the OC took the couple to the police station and ordered to send them to the court on charges of antisocial activities”, plaintiff’s defense lawyer Advocate Akbar Ali said.
