Suspended police officer of Teknaf police station Pradeep Kumar Das, accused in the murder of Major (retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan, shifted to Cox’s Bazar jail from Chittagong.
He had been in Cox’s Bazar jail since he surrendered along with six other accused in the murder case on August 6 last year.
“The inmate was taken to Chittagong to produce him before the court in a corruption case,” Cox’s Bazar Deputy Jailer Monir Hossain told the media on Thursday.
Pradeep is also blamed for several extrajudicial killings happened under his jurisdiction.
Major (retd) Sinha was shot dead at a police
check-post on Marine Drive Road between Cox’s Bazar and Teknaf on the night of July 31 last year.
Sinha’s sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous filed the case with the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court of Teknaf against nine policemen, including Pradeep.
