Narayanganj Correspondent :In compliance with a court order, the police on Thursday confiscated the movable assets of Nur Hossain, the prime accused in Narayanganj seven-murder case. Siddhirganj police began the drive at about 4:00pm in Nur Hossain’s house at Tekpara area of Shimrail under Siddhirganj in presence of executive magistrate Abul Kashem Mohammad Shaheen and Officer-in-Charge Md Alauddin of Shiddhirganj police station.Abul Kashem Shaheen said: “We entered the house as none of the family members were seen. Furniture and electronic items, including televisions and refrigerator have been seized. Police also recovered a loaded illegal revolver with eight round of bullets.Besides, we have found a Macao bird and some pigeons. Those will be handed over to the forest department,” he added.He also said that they would also investigate whether Nur Hossain had been rearing the birds in compliance with the country’s wildlife protection and safety laws.”Nur has three houses. Police will conduct drives at all three houses,” said Abul Kashem Shaheen. On Wednesday, a Narayanganj court has asked the law enforcers to confiscate all movable assets of Nur.Senior Judicial Magistrate KM Mohiuddin passed the order responding a petition of the investigation officer of the seven-murder case.NCC panel mayor Nazrul Islam, senior lawyer Chandan Sarker and five others were abducted on April 27.On April 28, Nazrul’s wife filed an abduction case against another local Ward Counsilor Nur Hossain, who later reportedly managed to flee to Kolkata despite the surveillance net of the law enforcers.On April 30, the bodies of the abducted victims surfaced in the Sitalakhya river. Autopsy report said they were murdered by professionals.
