National Human Rights Commission Chairman Dr Mizanur Rahman on Wednesday urged the UN Human Rights Council to take necessary steps to put an end to the Israeli “aggression” against Gaza, which has claimed 1,857 lives.
“I request the UN Human Rights Council for summoning an emergency meeting for adopting a resolution asking Israel to stop genocide and holocaust in Palestine,” Mizanur said it at a rally in the capital’s Central Shaheed Minar.
The commission arranged the rally at 10:30am to protest against
the Israeli aggression in Gaza. It was attended by about 50 members of different rights organisations.
Earlier, they brought out a procession from Teacher-Student Centre of Dhaka University and ended at the Shaheed Minar.
Meanwhile, Jatiya Party organised a human chain in the capital condemning Israeli atrocities.
