UPGP co-ordination meet held at Kishoreganj

Union Parished Governance Project (UPGP), a Project of UNDP, E.U and DANIDA. Kishoreganj District Administration and Local Government Division jointly organised a two- day co-ordination meeting and workshop on Monitoring. Inspection and Evaluation System of Union Parished held at Local Art Council Hall on Monday and Tuesday.ADC (Gen) & Deputy Diriector of Local Government Tarafder Md. Akhter Jamil presided over the function while Deputy Commissioner Md. Azimuddin Biswas attended as chief gust. The meeting adn workshop focas on up 5 years Planing, Regularize different meeting. MIS Reporting, Tax Imposing and Collecting as per UP Tax schedule- 2013. Deputy Commissioners Md. Azimuddin Biswas said that we wish digital UP by enhancing the commuter skill of UP secretary. Ballot boxes snatched in students’ cabinet polls in Barisal

Ballot boxes were snatched away in students’ cabinet election at a secondary school in the city on Thursday. The incident was happened just about half an hour before ending the vote casting time from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at two of the five polling booths in Kagashura secondary school, acknowledged Shafikul Islam headmaster of the school. There were total eight hundred voters and 27 candidates as students of class six to ten to elect 8-member student cabinet, said Jasimuddin, teacher of the school and coordinator of the student cabinet election at this school.
78 families under power network in Amtali
BARGUNA: A total of 78 families of Nichkata Para of Amtali poura area of the district have been brought under rural electrification network by Amtali Palli Bidyut Samity. Engineer of Amtali Palli Bidyut office Jamal Hossain, formally inaugurated the electrification programme on Thursday at a simple function at the area. President of Amtali Press club GM Musa presided over the function. Amtali Palli Bidyut office brought the area under rural electrification network spending Taka about 20 lakh, Amtali Palli Bidyut office sources said, reports BSS.
UP polls held peacefully in M’singh
MYMENSINGH: The second phase of Union Parishad election in Gouripur and Tarakanda upazila was held peacefully yesterday. Election began at 8am and ended at 4 pm. No untoward incidents were reported, said district police administration. Election Commission deployed sufficient police, RAB and BGB members to ensure security and to maintain law and order. Besides mobile team lead by Executive Magistrates were seen engaged during the election. District election office sources said the election was held in 97 centers in Gouripur upazila. 10,500 cow fattening tabs, drugs seized in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive seized 10,500 pieces of cow fattening tablets, 342 pieces of yaba tablets and 178 bottles of phensidyl from a train in Phulbari Railway Station of the district yesterday. On a tip-off, a BGB team raided a compartment of the train and seized the tablets and drugs in an abounded condition. None was arrested in this connection, reports BSS..
