3 held with arms, Yaba in C’nawabganj

Elite forces Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 arrested three persons with a pistol, a magazine, four bullets and 3,314 pieces of Yaba tablets in two separate drives in Shibganj and Chapainawabganj sadar upazilas on Sunday afternoon. The arrested persons were identified as Tamirul Islam Kalu, 26, son of Ejabul Hoque Montu of Shialmara Bairapara, Akbar Ali, 36, son of late Hazrat Ali of Rasulpur and Islam Uddin of Chakghorapakhia all under Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district. RAB said, acting on a tip off, a team of RAB in plain dress from Rajshahi railway colony camp raided Baliadighi Taltala area under Shibganj upazila at 3-45 pm and arrested alleged arms trader Tamirul Islam Kalu with a pistol, a magazine and four rounds of bullet.
Disable person beaten at Kaligonj in Gazipur

An old disable person was harassed by same miscreants at Kaligonj Uazila on Saturday. It is learnt, disable person Mozaffar Hossain was attacked on way to Aurakhali Bazar for selling cow milk at that time same identified miscreants attackede him 52 suddenly. Sources said, accused Abul Kasem Moral( 50 ) S/O late Sukkur Moral, Faroque Mollah s/o Baten Mollah. Abutaher Mollah (42) including others 5/6 unknown miscreants attacked Mojaffar Hosain and beat him mercilessly.
Training on BRRI Dhan-62 held in Bogra

A training programme to the farmer on zinc enriched rice BRRI Dhan-62 was held at Krishi Proshikhan Kendra at Sathia upazila of Pabna on Sunday. Sathia Upazila Agriculture Officer Ranjan Kumar Sarker chaired the programme where Bibhuthi Bhushan Sarker, Deputy Director of Pabna Agriculture Extension Office (DDAE) was present as chief guest and additional Deputy Director of the same office (crop) Sarker Safiuddin as special guest. They provided training to the farmers that how can they get good yield of BRRI Dhan-62 and they also taught them techniques.
Students’ cabinet polls held at 20 schools

The students’ cabinet elections from class six to ten were held simultaneously at 20 schools and Dakhil madrasas Sylhet Division on Saturday with festivity and enthusiasm, “The students got the opportunity to elect their leaders through the student cabinet polls. This election would imbibe the students with the motto of building the nation,” Education Officer in Sylhet said while visiting the polls at Kanaigahat School. Education Officer witnessed the students’ eagerness and enthusiasm about the polls and said such type of election will set up an example for all, including political parties. “There is no alternative to democratic practice. This kind of polls would help the students groom themselves as efficient and capable citizens to take the country ahead,” the Officer said.
2 drug peddlers held
RAB arrested Two drug peddlers from Dakshin Surma of Valki area conducting overnight drives on saturday.The arrestees were identified as halal Uddin (28), Shuhel miha (24) Baklia. Dakshin Surma officer-in-charge (OC) told that on a secret tip-off they conducted a drive in Valki area of the upazila and arrested Two drug peddlers.Law enforcers also seized 34 Bottle of Wine from the possessions of the arrestees, he added.Cases under narcotics act have been filed against them, the OC said.
