Light Engineering Fair ends

 A three-day long light engineering products and technology fair has been ended with great charm and success. The three-day long light engineering products and technology fair was inaugurated on Sunday at the premises of the local Railway Police Club and . ended on Tuesday. The fair was inaugurated by Saidpur Upazila Parishad Chairman Moksedul Momin, UNO Shamim Hussain, President of District Chamber of Commerce and Industries Engineer SM Safiqul Alam Dablu, and others. The keynote speaker was the Central President of the Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association (Baishimas). Abdur Razzak. Municipal councilor Ershad Hossain Pappu, Director of the central committee of the organization and president of Saidpur organizational district branch presided over the function. On the closing ceremony of the fair, Divisional Superintendent Md. Sadekur Rahman was the Chief Guest.Superintendent of Railway Police Md. Tanzilur Rahman, Works Manager of Saidpur Railway Workshop Sheikh Hasanuzzaman and Vice President of Chamber of Commerce & Industry Raj Kumar Poddar were present as the Special Guest of the conclusion Ceremony. Both the opening and conclusion ceremony was presided over by the President of Bangladesh Engineering Industrial Owners Association Janab Ershad Hossain Pappu. The fair was a joint venture between the Light Engineering Product Business Promotion Council and the Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association under the Ministry of Commerce. About 30 small scale industries from Saidpur are participating in the fair with their machinery and various technological industrial equipments.

Venison seized from Dublarchar

Venison and a trawler were seized from the poachers by the members of the smart team of Sundarbans from Nilbaria area of Dubla Dry Fish Village under Sharankhola Forest Range in the Eastern Division of Sundarbans (in Bagerhat district) on Monday, according to a report received here.
 It is learnt from a source of Sharankhola Forest Range Office that on Monday in the morning while the smart team-2 of the forest range led by forest officer Asaduzzaman was discharging their routine patrolling duty they found a trawler in Nibaria canal in suspicious movement. Then the patrolling team asked the trawler to halt. But it did not comply with the direction. On the contrary, it tried to flee away and at one stage it anchored to the bank of the canal and it’s all the boarders fled away into the deep forest. The forest guards seized the trawler, searched it and recovered 8 kgs deer-meat along with a deer-skin from it. Later the seized trawler and venison were handed over to the Dubla Dry Fish village forest outpost where the venison was dumped in the ground. In this a connection a case was recorded under Forest Act.

Workshop held in BARI

The Training and Communication Wing of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) organized a day-long workshop titled Feedback workshop on implementation of national integrity strategy action plan 2021-2022 at the seminar room of the institute on Thursday. A total of 65 scientists and officers from various divisions and centers of BARI participated at the workshop. BARI Director General Dr. Debasish Sarker inaugurated the workshop as chief guest. BARI Director (Training and Communication) Dr. Md. Saiful Islam presided over the function while Director (Support & Services) Dr. Md. Kamrul Hasan, Director (Research) Dr. Md. Tariqul Islam, Director (Planning and Evaluation) Dr. Apurba Kanti Chowdhury and Director (ORC) Dr. Md. Abdul Latif Akand were present as special guests. Principal Scientific Officer of the Training and Communication Wing Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak presented the keynote paper and Principal Scientific Officer Dr. Md. Shawquat Ali Khan conducted the workshop.
