Community score card demanded in Shibalaya

The DRRA ( Disabled Rehabilitation Research Association)’s Leadership Enhancement for Amplifying Disability Development and Equitable Rights-Leader Project arranged two day- long FGD in collaboration with the Manusher Jonno Foundation and USAID at Uthali Shikkshaniloy Pre-cadet School. The training ended on Tuesday.

Some 50 disabled and non-disabled people, who have received services within last 3 months at the local Upazila Health Complex took part in the training. The preparatory training was conducted by DRRA Leader Project Manager Nazma, DRRA Advocacy and Documentation Officer Md. Ujjal Hossain, Leader Project Field Workers Nasrin Akhter, Shahinur Rahman, Volunteer Khadija Akhter and Principal Mohammad Younus Ali.

Drug trader beats cops in Bagerhat

3 police members were injured in the hands of a drug trader and his relatives in the village Kandapara within Gotapara Union under Sadar Upazila in Bagerhat district on Monday evening, In this connection 3 persons were arrested from the village at the night and on the following day (Tuesday) they were sent to Bagerhat jail Hajat through the court. The arrested persons are Saiful Molla (39), Shahidul Islam (29) and Champa Aktar. (25). They all hail from the village Kandapara. K M Azizul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Bagerhat Model PS told, acting on secret information a contingent of police of the PS raided the village Kandapara, recovered 500 gram ganja from the house of Saiful Molla, som of one Alim Uddin Molla and when the police tried to arrest him (Saiful Molla) a number of villagers including Saiful Moll attacked the police contingent. As a result, three members of the police were injured. The injured police members were admitted to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for their treatment. In this connection 2 separate cases were lodged with the PS against those 3 and some others.

Snatched ammunitions recovered

Five live cartridges of Chinese rifle those were snatched away by the miscreants from the forest guards of Sundabans after beating them (forest guards) at the village Jewdhara under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district were recovered by the police, according to a report received here. In this connection a case was registered with Morrelganj PS by the forest department. Tuhin Mondel, Investigation Officer of the case and Officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Morrelganj PS told on Monday afternoon after returning from the place of occurrence, 5 live cartridges those were snatched away by the miscreants after beating them (forest guards) and a shell of used cartridge (by the forest guards) were recovered by the police near from the place of occurrence on Sunday.
