Body of newborn baby found in Kamalganj

A dead body of newlborn baby was found in Tusar Filling Station near paddy field of Kamalganj Upazila of the district at 5pm on Wednesday . The newborn body was unidentified and locals found the body of newborn in paddy field near Tusar filling. Then police recovered the body and sent to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital. When contacted, Nihar Ranjan Nath, office-in-charge, Kamalganj Police Station confirmed the matter to The Daily New Nation. He said, the unidentified newborn body sent to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Woman ‘commits suicide’ in Kulaura
A woman allegedly committed suicide at Jonotabazar area in Kulaura upazila of the district on at 4am on Wednesday . The deceased was identified as Happy Rani Das, 33 wife of Bijon Chandra Das in Jonotabazar area in Kulaura upazila. Police said, she was found hanging with fan in her room . When contacted, Kulaura Police Station, Office-in-Charge Md. Hasanuzzaman confirmed The Daily New Nation He said, we sent her dead body Moulvibazar Hospital for postmortem.
3 including Patharghata UZ AL leader sent to jail

A Barguna court on Tuesday rejecting bail prayer ordered Patharghata upazila AL Joint Secretary , his brother and businessman association leader and a school headmaster to jail.
Court sources said Akon Md. Shaid, Patharghata upazila AL joint secretary, Nasiruddin Akon, his brother and secretary of Natunbazar merchants association, Anwar Hossain, headmaster of Patharghata model primary school, were accused in a criminal case for assaulting a person in a arbitration meeting over land dispute at the residence of local AL lawmaker Hachanur Rahman Rimon on December 26, 2013. Shahin Molla, the assaulted victim, lodged a case (no.408/12) with Patharghata senior judicial magistrate court in this connection against the aforesaid accused. Then the AL leader, his businessmen brother and the primary school headmaster on Tuesday surrendering before the Barguna district and session judge court appealed for bail. Nazrul Islam, judge of the court rejecting bail prayer ordered the appeared accused to send to the jail, informed Advocate Jamal Hossain, pleader of the plaintiff. However, on Monday night Bangladesh Chhatra League central committee expelled Rajshahi University unit joint secretary Nasim Ahmed Setu and organising secretary Shamsuzzaman Emon, who were seen with guns in photos published in different.
School student killed in Bogra

A school student was killed at Pachchim Boronagar village under Shajahanpur upazila in Bogra district recently. The deceased was identified as Limi Akhtar, 10, daughter of Shahin Mia of the village and a student of class five of a local primary school of the area of the upazila. Police sources said that the victim went to sleep with her father in a same bed after finishing their dinner as deceased’s mother went to her parents’ house and in the morning she was found dead in the bed. At around 11 am the dead body was recovered from the house and sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital (SZMCH)’s morgue for autopsy. Deceased’s father Shahin Mia claimed that he had long withstanding conflict with his neighbour and his neighbour killed his daughter out of enmity. Some neighbours of the area said that they had no such enmity with him and alleged that deceased’s father himself killed the deceased school student for filing allegation against them. Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Shajahanpur police station Abu Hasan said that the cause of the deceased’s death was not clear to the police though local people alleged that her father himself killed her. After getting autopsy report police will take action regarding the killing, added the OC.
