World Antibiotic Awareness Week observed at RU

The World Antibiotic Awareness Week was observed in Rajshahi University with the theme of “to take an unnecessary antibiotic is harm, without prescription to buy it forbidden”. RU Pharmacy department observed the week aims to increase global awareness of antibiotic resistance and to encourage proper practices among the general people, health workers and policy makers to avoid the further emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance.The programme was ended on Sunday. Following the programme, teachers, students, officials of the department brought out a colourful rally on the campus. Later, a seminar was held in the department. Professor Anwar Ul Islam, Professor Mamunur Rashid, assistant professor Ajijur Rahman of the department and Kasobpur upazila nirbahi officer Mizanur Rahman in Khulna were present, among others, on the seminar.
Training on union digital centres held

The capacity development training on jute and light engineering sector for Union digital center representatives was held in Rangpur recently . The programmes was inaugurated by Deputy Director, Local Government, Rangpur DC Office, Rangpur Md. Ruhul Amin Miah. The special guests were Principal, Technical Training Center (TTC), Rangpur Md. Lutfor Rahman; Engineer-Farm Power Specialist, Practical Action Md. Rezaul Karim and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer, Practical Action, Rangpur Ms. Paromita Datt. And journalists were also present on the occasion. LED monitor with a laptop was distributed to five Union Parishads (Alampur UP-Taragonj; Gojoganta UP-Gongachora; Balapara UP-Kaunia; Payrabandh UP-Mithapukur; Ranipukur UP-Mithapukur) of the district through the training session to improve and provide the quality service to the people and wider expending of projects activities. The training programme was presided over by District Coordinator (Training and Knowledge Management), EC-PRISM project, RDRS Bangladesh Md. Rakibul Bahar. He welcomed to all by delivering welcome speech especially DDLG of Rangpur, TTC principal and Chairmen of Union Parishad. The EC-PRISM project is being implemented by RDRS Bangladesh, funded by European Commission (EC) and with technical support of Practical Action. The project will contribute to the economic development to one of the most economically deprived parts of the country by enhancing skills and creating jobs for thousands of extreme poor individuals in the jute textile and light engineering related sectors. Besides this strengthening Union digital Center to get service and spreading jute and weather related information through the digital center.
10 motorbike drivers fined in Kapasia

Gazipur Kapasia UNO Mausa Ismat Ara conducted a mobile court, fined 10 motorbike drivers recently. The mobile court is run in the Upazila Health Complex. According to the UNO Office sources, mobile court sent a fine of Tk 500 to motor vehicle drivers, due to lack of necessary documents including driver’s license, helmets, car registration.
