Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Foundation, Bangladesh Bank, Industry Ministry, FBCCI and Kishoreganj District Administration jointly arranged one week -long SME Productive Fair- 2018 at local stadium playground in the town on Wednesday. A discussion meeting, colourfull rally and cultural function marking the SME Productive Fair were held . K.M. Habibullah, Chairpersons, SME Foundation attended as Chief Guest while Deputy Commissioner Md. Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury presided over . It was addressed among others by District Awami League President Advocate Kamrul Ahasan Shajahan as a special guest, ADC (Gen) Torafder Md. Akhter Jamil, Sadar UNO Abdullah-al-Masud, Chamber President Mujibur Rahman Belal, Senior Vice-President Sheikh Farid, Women’s Chamber President Fatematuz Zohura, Women’s leader Bilkis Begum, Engineer Mahabubur Rahman and Md. Alauddin. A colourfull rally was brought out in the town led by SME Foundation Chairman K.M. Habibullah. At least 55 stall set up the SME Fair.
3 drug peddlers arrested with 1316 pcs Yaba

Three special teams of Detective Branch (DB) of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) arrested three notorious drug peddlers by launching separate drives at different places of Khulna city on March 12. DB team also seized a total of 1316 pieces Yaba tablets from the arrested persons, said DB sources. The arrestees are- Md. Raju Ahmed (32 ) son of Md. Ferdous Ahmed ( 81) West Baniakhamar Club Intersection area under Sonadanga Model Police Station in the city. Mrinal Kanti Sarkar, 40, son of late Khokon Sarkar, resident of village Pithabhoge in Rupsha upazila of Khulna district. Sawkot Mahbub alias Shuvo, 34, son of Md. Abdul Mannan Sardar, resident of 42 Shahid Sohrawardi College road at Siddiquia Moholla area under Sonadanga police station in the city under KMP. According to sources, under the supervision of AM Kamrul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Detective Branch of Khulna Metropolitan Police (ADC, DB, KMP), a special team led by DB SI Md. Ahsan Kabir conducted a drive at 81 west Baniakhamar area and arrested the drug peddler Raju Ahmed while 1200 Yaba tablets were seized from his possession. Acting on a secret information, the said team launched drive at Zoragate Petrol Pump area under Khalishpur police station and arrested the accused Mrinal Kanti Sarkar and seized 105 pieces of Yaba tablets from his possession.
Two sisters drown in pond at Shyamnagar

Two sisters drowned in the pond at Shyamnagar in Satkhira on Tuesday. They are cousin each other. The incident took place at Molapara village of Atulia union of the upazila Shyamnagar under Satkhira district around 10 am . The deceased were identified as Mariam Akter Sumaiya, 5, daughter of Nazrul Sana and Shahnaz Akhter Sweeti, daughter of Nuruzzman Sana village of Mollapara in Shyamnagar upazila. The relatives of the deceased said , children Sumaiya and Sweeti were playing near the pond. Unconsciously, they fall into the pond water. At one stage , in their search, their relatives rescued their dead bodies from the pond. Shyamnagar OC Syed Abdul Mannan confirmed the incident .
