Stocks return to down trend as major sector dip

Stocks finished on Tuesday down trend further as major sectors closed the session with falling trend both at the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock exchanges.
The broader DSEX index of DSE finished the session 6.31 points down at 4677.69. The Shariah DSES followed it by 0.23 points down at 1122.40. But the blue-chip DS30 slightly gained with 3.56 points up at 1775.06.
Similarly, the prime CASPI index at Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) was 15.36 points down at 14,381.11.
The transaction at DSE was 17.15 core shares and total value of the share was Taka 534.21 crore.
At DSE, out of the day’s 324 traded issues, price of 105 securities closed higher against 181 losing issues. At CSE, issues traded were 247 while 86 closed higher against 124 closing lower.
The major gaining issues were Prime Textile, Apex Spinning, Peninsula Chittagong Limited, Daffodil Computers and Fuwang Food. The major losing issues were Yakin Polymer, Saver Refrigerator, Modern Dying, National Housing Finance and Investment and GSP Finance.
Yeakin Polymer topped the turnover leaders followed by Bangladesh Submarine Cables, Beximco Limited, Olympic Accessories, Singer BD and Lanka Bangla Finance.
