President Donald Trump has said American troops are “doing well” in Iraq and the US is making progress in its fight against the dreaded terror group ISIS in the war-ravaged country.
At a reception hosted for Senators and their spouses yesterday, Trump said soldiers were fighting like never before and results are very good.

Kashmir shutdown over civilians killing

A complete shutdown was observed India-held Kashmir on Wednesday against the brutal killing of four youth by Indian troops in Chadoora tehsil of Budgam district.
Three civilians were killed in anti-India protests that erupted on Tuesday following a gun battle between suspected militants and government forces in which an alleged militant was killed.

Mobs attack Africans in India

Mobs of Indians have repeatedly attacked African students in a New Delhi suburb in recent days after rumors that a local boy had been kidnapped by Nigerians.
The surge in violence began Friday when a teenage boy disappeared in Greater Noida, outside New Delhi, and angry relatives claimed he’d been killed by Nigerians. A mob of people began searching the area for Africans, with some accusing kidnappers of eating the boy.

Sisi to visit US on April 3

The White House announced Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will make an “official visit” to Washington on April 3, ending years in which the Egyptian president had been kept at arm’s length amid rights concerns.
“President Trump and President Al-Sisi will use the visit to build on the positive momentum they have built for the United States-Egypt relationship,” the White House said in a statement Tuesday.

Fog grounds over 100 flights in Wellington

Thick flog blanketed the New Zealand capital on Wednesday, leading to the cancellation of more than 100 flights and leaving travellers stranded.
“Fog and low cloud are also currently forecast in the Wellington area for tomorrow morning,” Air New Zealand said in an emailed statement, adding it would decide on Thursday whether it can resume services.

 Bus bombing kills 5 in central city of Homs

The police chief in Syria’s central city of Homs says a bomb planted on a taxi van killed at least five people.
Maj. Gen. Khaled Hilal tells Syria TV that the vehicle targeted Wednesday was mainly carrying university students, and that four other passengers were wounded.
