2 killed in road accident in Kachua
Bagerhat Correspondent :Two persons including a school girl were killed and 4 others including 2 school teachers were injured when a mechanized van was dashed violently by a BRTC passenger bus on Bagerhat-Pirojpur Highway at Badhal bazaar under Kachua Upazila in the district on Thursday . They were identified as Farjana Aktar, a student of class VIII of Badhal B,K, High School and van driver Al-Amin (28) while the injured persons are father of deceased Farjana, Manwara Begum, Asstt, Headmistress of B.K. High School, Alajuddin Shaikh Asstt. Teacher of the same school and Shimul Chakravarty, a student of class VIII of the school. It is learnt from the police and the locals that the killer BRTC bus was going from Khulna to Barisal -via Bagerhat and when it reached the place of occurrence it violently dashed the mechanized van from its behind and fled away. As a result, van driver Al-Amin was killed on the spot and 5 others were injured. Seriously injured Farjana Aktar succumbed to her in juries on her way to the hospital. Other injured persons were admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital for their treatment. In this connection a case was lodged with Kachua PS.Body recovered A dead body of a young man was recovered by the police from the river Bishkhali that separates Morrelganj Upazila of Bagerhat district from Pirojpur district on Thursday after he was missing four days ago. It is guessed by the police that he was, perhaps, lifted from a place near his village home Fultala within Gopalpur union under Kachjua Upazila in the district by some miscreants four days ago. Later they (miscreants) strangulated him to death and threw the dead body into the river. The deceased was identified as Mina Khatun, 28, wife of Khorshed Alam of the village.Motier Rahman Shikdar, sub-inspector of Bagachra police camp, said being informed by local people, police recovered the body of Mina and sent it to Jessore Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy. Victim’s father Abdur Rahim claimed Khorshed Alam along with his family members had killed Mina at some time in the night before and dumped the body in the pond. The body bore several injury marks, said police. The deceased’s family members said Jabedul went out of his house on Thursday evening and since then he had remained traceless. Later, locals found Jabedul’s body afloat in a ditch of the area in the morning and informed police. The body was sent to the district hospital morgue for an autopsy. Ramganj Police Station sub-inspector Amir Hossain said the cause behind Jabedul’s death could be known after the postmortem, reports UNB.Photo studio owner killed in BograBogra: The proprietor of a photo studio was killed in an attack by unknown miscreants in Colony area of the district town on Friday night. The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam,36, son of Golam Rahman of Ulipur upazila of Kurigram district. Quoting locals, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Foyzur Rahman said a group of unidentified miscreants swooped on Rafiqul in his studio and chopped him indiscriminately with sharp weapons at about 10:00 pm, leaving him seriously injured. Hearing Rafiqul’s screams, local people rescued him and took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later. Police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for an autopsy. reports UNB.
