Cop commits suicide in Kurigram

One police constable committed suicide in his home at Telepara under Bhitorband union of Nageswari upazila in Kurigram district at 9 am on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Ratan Chandra Barman 25 son of Bhabesh Chandra Barman of the village.Locals and police sources said Ratan was served in Dhaka. He was married recently. He came home in leave. He was committed suicide in an open room adjacent his house. Finding the hanging body locals informed the matter to police station.Officer-in-charge of Nageswari police station Afjalul Islam told this correspondent that the body was recovered and it was sent to Kurigram Sadar Hospital morgue for postmortem. The causes behind the suicide could not be known immediately. An unnatural death case was lodged with police, he added.
Trade Fair begins in Jhenaidah

A month-long Trade Fair was inaugurated at Jhenaidah New Academy High School ground on Wednesday afternoon. Jointly arranged by Jhenaidah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Benarashi Weavers Private Limited, law maker of Jhenaidah-1 constituency Abdul inaugurated the fair as Chief Guest. Presided over by Jhenaidah Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mir Nasiruddin, lawmaker of Jhenaidah-2 constituency Tahjib Alam Siddiquee, Deputy Commissioner Mahbub Alam Talukder and police super Mizanur Rahman attended as special guests. Ex president of Jhenaidah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mahmudul Islam Foton, Jhenaidah police station officer in charge Harendra Nath Sarker, Awami League district unit organizing secretary Abdul Hakim, Bangladesh Chhatra League district unit president Shaqil Ahmed, Benarashi Weavers Private Limited chairman Saikat Chowdhury, director Mahmud Hasan Koreshi and Green Events director Wahidul Arif among others spoke on the inaugural ceremony. Circus, Nagardola (wheel), children’s rider and some other equipments abide the stalls will enrich the trade fair, the organizers said.
Properties worth Tk 2 lakh gutted in Kachua

Properties worth Tk 2 lakh were gutted when a fire broke out in Smmankathi Muktijoddha Bazar within Maghia Union under Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat district on Sunday midnight. It is alleged that at night some one or more people set fire on a tea stall belonging to a poor woman named Jesmin Begum and a hair cutting saloon belong to a poor man named Joydeb Sheel. On seeing the flame of fire some locals rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control with the help of others. In spite of that both the shops with their all belongings were completely gutted. The loss of fire is estimated at Tk.2 lakh.
Misba’s murderer not yet arrested

Police identified the killers of Misbah but have not yet arrested none. After one week of this accident, there is no progress but police demanded they identified the accused persons through closed circuit (CC) footage. They continued their effort to arrest the killer. In a closed circuit camera near the place of occurrence, the scene was shown. Persons seeing the footage said in a sudden attack, a youth fell down on the ground. After that the killer left the place. With him 5 others ran away the scene.
On 26th November at night near Custom Office, Misbahuddin was chopped to death. After the killing, his mother Nazma Begum filed a case where main accused was Kabir and 5 others unknown. But none has been arrested yet. Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Model Thana Suhel Ahmed said, the killer has been identified as Kabir who hails from Baldi under South Surma Upazila is Sylhet District. He was an apprentice in a tailoring in Kazi Mansion in Sylhet city.
